This bad boy palette sold out in four minutes on Tuesday. FOUR. MINUTES. And the majority of people are super upset. Like complaining to the founder, whining on Instragram, venting on social media…. lucky for you all, I managed to grab one so I will be swatching it as soon as I get it (yay)!
So about this palette: it released in late 2016 and a lot of people slept on this. As a lot of people do until heavy hitting beauty influencers get their hands on it. It has twelve shades that vary with matte and shimmer that are gold and berry tones basically just like the Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Modern Renaissance palette or Violet Voss’s Holy Grail. Do I have a lot of berry toned palettes? Yeah. Do I have theirs? No. Have I heard everybody and their mothers rave about how awesome it is? Yes. Did I freaking luck out with purchasing one? Pretty freaking much.
Unfortunately, as a lot of people who wanted to see what the hype was about or fans of the indie brand had these in their carts, it sold out on them as the order was processing. Which obviously started a lot of rants and anger. As expected. The company apologized because this was a limited run and the palette will not be coming back. The good news is that some of the shadows will be permanent as singles.
A lot of people stopped supporting the brand saying that they weren’t prepared enough or that they only put five on the sale. What a lot of people don’t realize is that indie companies for the most part don’t have the resources to prepare tens of thousands of palettes for all the people out there. Realistically, they didn’t only put five out for the sale. Launch time was 9:00 AM PST., 12:00 PM EST., 11:00 AM Central Time. You have to attribute how many people all over were on the website at the same time trying to purchase. So there were a lot more than five. Let’s be realistic, please.
They teased a new palette coming soon on their Instagram yesterday! The same frenzy might happen but at least this one is in the books. If you’re looking for it still, I’ve seen it on eBay for around $200.
