Jeffree Star You.Better.Work. Liquid Lipstick Collection 2017

Hi friends and all new subscribers! Today I waited anxiously by the door for the Jeffree Star Summer 2017 collection. I bought this set from Beautylish because of the issues I had trying to buy the Jeffree and Manny collab off of his site. This collection was $105 and qualified for free two-day shipping. I ordered it at 1:00 PM EST and they shipped it out by 5:30 PM the same day. Beautylish has great shipping and their customer service is so good. I didn’t grab the complete vault because $195 is a lot of money and I’m not a fan of regular lipsticks so I wasn’t going to be using a lot of the products in the vault.

Let me start by saying that this year’s formula is definitely improved from last year’s 2016 set. I enjoyed the colors from last year but the formula made me so freaking sad. This year the metallic shades, Flamboyant and Candyass, are the only two that are scented. They smell like strawberries and, I wanted to drink them.

Here is what it looked like in the packaging. Beautylish has the tissue paper that has all of Jeffree’s tattoos all over it.
Here is the box that it comes in. It is a pretty frosted pink box that is a decent size. It magnetizes shut which is nice.
When you open the box all the liquid lipsticks are in their own individual packaging.
When you take them out of their boxes please take note that these do not fit in very snug. Don’t go shaking the box around if you plan to store them like this. 😂😂
Here they are out of the box and looking pretty. They have chrome toppers and the dark pink logo font.
Here is the bottom of the lipsticks. I only used one since they all have the same set up. It has the shade name, brand name and how many fluid ounces it is. Keep note of the bottoms just in case you buy from another place and aren’t sure if yours is a fake or not.
This is what the applicator looks like. It is a slanted doe foot with a bit of flex to it. It picks up a decent amount of product and applies it smoothly. I apologize for my nails. Camping does that to a lady. Haha.

Before we talk swatches I wanted to show you box shots before all of that just in case all these sell out and you have to buy from a third party retailer. I used shade ‘Butt Naked’ as my reference.

Here is the front of the box. You can see the chrome quality the box has along with the pink logo.
This side of the box describes the product as vegan, cruelty-free, matte, long lasting and extreme beauty. It has instructions to follow and the company distribution information.
This side of the box has Jeffree’s website, YouTube and Instagram. It also has the cruelty-free bunny logo.
This side has the name of the shade, a reminder to shake the lipstick and the ingredient list. There is also a UPC.
This picture is very important. The bottom of the box has the batch codes for authenticity. For Butt Naked and You. Better. Work., the serial code is 7D1, Calabasas is 7E2, Venus Flytrap, Family Jewels and Hunty, is 7D2 and the metallics, Candyass and Flamboyant do not have serial codes.

For the swatches, I included an arm swatch of all the shades and one of those fancy lip swatch collages! Here we go!

These were taken in the sunlight through my window. They are not enhanced in any way. Okay, the lightest shade is Butt Naked. This is a matte light peachy beige nude shade. It actually compliments my skin tone so I was very with it. Calabasas got it’s name from where Jeffree lives in California. This is a matte dark plum shade that reminds me of a lighter Androgyny. Venus Flytrap is an electric greenish yellow matte. I adore how unique this shade is. It looks great on! It does take more than one coat to be really bold but it is so worth it. Family Jewels is next. This shade is a brownish plum shade. If Dominatrix and Androgyny had a baby, it would be Family Jewels. Hunty is of course, great. This dark nude compliments my olive skin tone without skipping on coverage and pigment. You. Better. Work. was the shade that had me the most excited for this launch. I adore all shades of purple in lipstick and this bright purple was a necessary purchase for my everyday looks. Flamboyant is a bright red with red and silver metallic qualities in it. Candyass is a light coral pink with gold and silver sparkles in it. Both of these metallics go on smooth and light and smell wonderful.
Here are the lip swatches of all the shades. The top row is Butt Naked and Hunty. Row two is Calabasas and You. Better. Work. Row three is Venus Flytrap and Candyass. The last row is Family Jewels and Flamboyant.

I hope you enjoyed this really long review and reveal of the products. Hopefully this was useful if you were still wondering what to purchase. Xo

Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Palette Swatches!

Hi loves! It’s a beautiful day outside and I decided to blog early so there’s time to enjoy the sunshine! A good palette to emphasize on color today would be this limited edition Tarte palette! This palette was released earlier this year. This palette retails for $40 and has ten eyeshadows and one highlighter included.

Here’s the front of the palette. It is a sturdy plastic and is a circle. Think of a bigger compact. It has a pretty jewel design on the top.
Here’s the back of the palette. There isn’t much information there just the palette name, serial number, weight, and company location.
Here’s the inside of the palette. The shadows are set up around the highlighter. There is one matte shade to use as a base and the rest are shimmer and sparkle shades. There is a pretty nice mirror in this palette.
Here’s a more stylized picture of the shadows and highlighter. I put it on Instagram to show texture and sparkle.

I did five swatches at a time so there will be two groups and then a swatch of the highlighter.

Here are the first five shadows. Myth is a pretty matte pinky greige shade. Magic is a coppery metallic shade. Wings is a metallic orange. Marvel is a silver sparkle. Trance is a dark lavender with some sparkle in it. Some of these shades are pretty stiff but still blendable with a brush.
These are the next five. These shadows are more pigmented with a pearl like quality. Fairy is a dark purple with a sparkle shift. Mystic is a gray shade with a sparkle shift. Dream is a pretty blue green with a subtle shift. Crystal is a very muted pink purple with a gold shift. Pixie is a light pink with gold shift. It reminds me of Sugarpill’s Trinket liquid lipstick.
Here’s swatches of the highlighter located in the middle of the pan. It packs a punch when swatched with a finger. I wish it was more visible when brushed but if you’re looking for a subtle shimmer, this is a good choice.

There is a lot more to this set. There’s brushes, liquid lipsticks, mascara, and dipliner. If you love fun limited-edition makeup, snag this adorable palette for the ultimate glitter and shimmer looks.

Too Faced X Nikkietutorials The Power of Makeup Collection and Swatches!

Hi friends and makeup collectors! Today I’m going to review the Too Faced X Nikkietutorials collaboration collection! I know this came out a while ago but I didn’t start blogging then. It took a while to decide to turn my makeup enthusiasm into an informative aide for people searching the internet. Okay, so I grabbed this on Sephora’s website on launch day because I love Nikkie. I’m not a huge Too Faced fan because I think their shades are very, well, boring and recycled with each palette that comes out. I also think the shades don’t last very long or all middle together into a very uncomplimentary Brown. Okay let’s start looking at the collection.

Here’s the box the collection comes in. It has the same design as the palette inside.
Here’s the back of the box. It has a complete ingredient list of every item included and a quick picture preview of all the included items.
Here’s everything included in the collection. There’s a glamour tutorial guide, eyeshadow primer, eyeliner, glitter, mascara, and of course the palette.
Here is what the Glamour Dust in ‘Glitterally’ looks like. You definitely need a glitter glue or primer for this to stay on.
Better Than Sex is a great mascara. This one comes in a purple shade! It is exclusive to this collection!
This eyeliner is the Sketch Marker Eyeliner. It has a nice tip but I wish it flexed a bit like the ones I typically use.
Here’s the front of the palette.
Here’s the back of the palette. It has a quick summary of the collaboration.
Here’s the inside of the palette. It doesn’t have a mirror and reminds me of the Vegas Nay collaboration in setup. There are nine eyeshadows, two blushes, bronzer and highlighter.

I did the swatches by row since there are three in each row. The blushes are swatched together and the highlighter and bronzer are swatched together.

Here’s the first row. It has two shimmer shades and a nice and light base shade.
This second row has two mattes that can be used as a base or transition shade. Irresistible is a very nice shimmer gold shade that is very subtle when used with a brush. Unfortunately, that does happen with a majority of gold shadows.
This is the last eyeshadow row. It has two shimmer colors and one matte black that is actually… very nice. A lot of black shadows don’t last or aren’t very pigmented. I’m happy with this black.
Here are the blush swatches. I Will Always Love You is a beautiful orange blush that adds a subtle color and shade to your cheeks. Justify My Love is a beautiful bright pink with some sparkle. It does get a bit of fallout but nothing frustrating or insane. It blends out quite nicely.
Here’s the bronzer and highlighter. Champagne Truffle is from the Chocolate Bar palettes and is Nikki’s go to which is why it was included. Chocolate Soleil is one of Too Faced best selling bronzers and smells like chocolate. I would live without the smell but it a nice contour shade.

That’s it for this collection! You get a lot of things with it so when it was on sale for $60 it was definitely worth it. I wish the shadows were a bit more unique but overall, it is nice but I just don’t grab for it much.
