Hi friends and all new subscribers! Today I waited anxiously by the door for the Jeffree Star Summer 2017 collection. I bought this set from Beautylish because of the issues I had trying to buy the Jeffree and Manny collab off of his site. This collection was $105 and qualified for free two-day shipping. I ordered it at 1:00 PM EST and they shipped it out by 5:30 PM the same day. Beautylish has great shipping and their customer service is so good. I didn’t grab the complete vault because $195 is a lot of money and I’m not a fan of regular lipsticks so I wasn’t going to be using a lot of the products in the vault.
Let me start by saying that this year’s formula is definitely improved from last year’s 2016 set. I enjoyed the colors from last year but the formula made me so freaking sad. This year the metallic shades, Flamboyant and Candyass, are the only two that are scented. They smell like strawberries and, I wanted to drink them.
Before we talk swatches I wanted to show you box shots before all of that just in case all these sell out and you have to buy from a third party retailer. I used shade ‘Butt Naked’ as my reference.
For the swatches, I included an arm swatch of all the shades and one of those fancy lip swatch collages! Here we go!
I hope you enjoyed this really long review and reveal of the products. Hopefully this was useful if you were still wondering what to purchase. Xo
Hi loves! As you know, Jeffree Star is going to reveal the new collection tomorrow on YouTube but he just released on Instagram a sneak peek of ‘You.Better.Work’. This shade is everything. The release for the new shades is on June 24th!
Hi friends! Sorry I got my posts up so late today but my daughter is finishing up Kindergarten and I had some random things to do today. This came out last year around the Christmas holiday. It retailed for $99. In Jeffree Star Cosmetics’s Holiday Collection there were seven shades that could be bought together or separately for $18 each. If you have been reading my posts for a bit now you know that Jeffree’s lipsticks are my go to. His new Summer Collection is launching June 24th. So before that launches, I wanted to put up more of his shades.
As usual for you all, I have arm swatches of each shade and a nice collage of all the lip swatches! Enjoy!
Hi all! Did you all purchase anything from this launch on Saturday? I had a bit of a fit on Saturday with this launch. Let me set the scene for you all. Typically when I know there’s a huge launch, I log onto the site about five minutes before, set up my login credentials, and see if there’s anything else I could buy.
To be honest, I didn’t need anything but the bundle so I sat and waited. One o’clock rolled around and I put the bundle in my cart. I clicked checkout and PayPal and then a message came up. A message that said, there was a lot of traffic in the site and to hold on tight and it would process you through to your purchase. Basically a queue line. Let’s just say I hit checkout at 1:01 PM and was stuck there for 30 more minutes. When the page cleared, the bundle was sold out and in my opinion, completely messed up.
In complete frustration, I went on Beautylish and purchased the two lipsticks because I don’t wear much highlighter and it would have been a waste of money. I scored free two day shipping and now we’re here! I’m so happy with these. One nude shade and one gorgeous red. Let me show you all the things!
I swatched these for you all! I did an arm swatch and then on the lip! Enjoy!
Either way, grab these. They’re a great consistency, great shades and an overall pretty collaboration. Great work, guys ❤❤
You know how I said that Jeffree bring a lot of drama because of things that are said and done? Well, it’s happened again but to a huge legal degree.
On April 3rd a lawsuit was filed by Black Moon Cosmetics stating that Jeffree and Manny’s collaboration is a blatant copy of their design and logo. To be honest, the similarities are uncanny. If you want to read the full complaint, you can find it right here. (You will also see the screenshot of Manny gushing over their packaging so he’s aware that the company was around even before him using the logo with his Makeup Geek Collaboration.) The black background is a sure copy. They could have used pink with a hologram or anything.
Considering that their collaboration was due to launch on April 8th, nothing has been said if it is delayed yet.
Black Moon Cosmetics started in 2015 by a mother and daughter. They have their own website to purchase their liquid lipsticks and cosmic eyedust right here. They also are huge on Instagram and feature a bunch of their customers wearing their products and reviewing them. They are a vegan and cruelty-free company that has a killer formula. To be honest, they’re one of my favorite brands. I love them so much. I’m not an affiliate or paid to say so. I paid for all the makeup you see me swatch out of my own pocket so I form MY OWN opinions rather than being paid for them.
If you know me personally, I’ve always recommended Jeffree’s products as I love his formula on eyeshadows and of course the liquid lips. I can’t live without Unicorn Blood or Androgyny, I’ve tried. The first huge blow for me was the mini feud between him and Kat Von D. A lot of people sided with their favorite and stopped using the other. They both made video responses to each other and stopped talking. I kept using both products because I love them both and I thought, hey, it happens. Some people are more dramatic than others. Now this. And I’m going to leave it at this.
Edit: As seen on Manny’s Snapchat, he said that this lawsuit is settled.
This is a fairly new release. This is Jeffree’s second palette. The palette has ten colors and the pans are the same size and the same price of $45. I’m still doing looks with it and deciding which shades are my favorite. I already gave my input on the drama that surrounds Jeffree and his brand on his Beauty Killer swatch review so I’m not going to say anything more here.
Here are the pictures of the palette:
I did the swatches the same as in Beauty Killer by row.
I love the color selection in this palette. Please give me as many funky colors as you can. 🙂
I tend to keep my mouth shut on a lot of topics. There’s usually a lot of drama around Jeffree due to things that he’s said and things that he done. One can go on and on about things but that’s not really the purpose of this post. The purpose is to swatch the palette and give my opinion. If you’re not a fan of Jeffree, you don’t have to read the palette review. If you are a fan and just curious about it, please read on.
This was the first palette that Jeffree released. It gets a lot of mixed reviews from what I read and hear. It depends where you stand on the drama spectrum. Some say that the shades are chalky and not pigmented. Others rave and say this is the best palette ever. And then thrown either some hate or praise to back up their comments. To be honest, I enjoy this palette and I found it refreshing. The price of this was $45 and for the size of the shades, it is worth the money. I enjoy unique colors and fun shades so I enjoy what was in it. The shades are pigemented and nice. Courtney is the best crease shade ever. Anyways, here’s the palette!
I did the swatches by row.
There you have it! I think the palette and the color selection were good. There’s something for everybody in here and a bunch of looks can be made with this one.
