Nomakenolife August 2017 Box!

Hi readers! I apologize for my lack of updates this week. School starts for the little and I had a lot of things to prepare and get ready for. I also have another job other than running this blog so I’ve been loving on this pink cloud of happiness because I love it.

Kinda feeling like Lakitu. Nerdy yet happily floating by with waves of anxiety. 😂😂😂

Also, I’m not sure if you all heard but Beautycon no longer offers their subscription box service so I no longer will be posting about those :/ I always enjoyed those boxes and thought it was worth the money. Anyways, this month’s Nomakenolife subscription box features skin-nourishing soap, awesome smelling lotion, a toothbrush(???), purple eyeliner, and Rune Naito sheet masks. I’ll never complain about receiving too many skincare items because I have sensitive skin and I love keeping my skin clear and healthy. As usual, I have a front and back description of each item and any swatches that are necessary. Enjoy!

I set up all the items from this month in the box for you all! As you can see, all the items are full-size 🙂

And here they are all spread out on my body pillow. I added the booklet that comes with each box to give some detail on the products you received this month.

The first item this month is a toothbrush. I was curious yet confused as to why this was included in the box. Also, I just recently bought a toothbrush so my enthusiasm was a bit low. This is the Candy Faceline Massage Toothbrush.

This toothbrush was created with dentists to not only clean your teeth but massages your mouth with the ball on the other side of the toothbrush. The ball massages your laugh lines and you can use it to massage your lips.

The second item are the Rune Naito Rune Girl Face Masks. Rune Naito is considered one of the fathers of the modern “kawaii” movement. His artwork is inspired by looks from the 1960s.

These masks were assembled in Japan but made in Korea. To use these masks, you first clean your face and apply toner. Next, use a warm cloth to open your pores. After that, take a mask out of the package and leave on your face for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes pass, press the serum on your face and neck.

You get two masks in this pack. Both masks are a moisturizing masks that aid dry skin.

The third item is a tofu soap by Hada Bijin. This soap contains soybean extract and bittern which will help moisturize skin. The addition of apricot seed, yuzu fruit extract, and polyglutamic acid aid in additional moisture.

The soap comes in a basket that makes the perfect soap dish and it includes a foaming net that helps create lather. I’m really interested in this item. 🙂

Next, we have the Lassic Creamy Mint Body Massage Milk. I’ve been using this since my box arrived. I love the fresh scent and how light this milk is. This product has caffiene and orange, lemon, and bilberry fruit extracts to tighten the skin.

This body milk also has Hyaluronic Acid for its nourishing properties. This is a non-sticky and lightweight formula that makes you… tingly.

The last item is a Coupy-Design Gel Eyeliner by Decora Girl. This company is known throughout Japan as a colored plastic pencil maker that has stylish packaging and gorgeous colors.

This eyeliner has a waterproof formula, that is soft and precise in application. The eyeliner has ten moisturizing ingredients to make your looks look fresh throughout the day.

Please note that this eyeliner is non-retractable so only twist a small amount at a time.

Here is a swatch of the eyeliner for you all. I love how pigmented this shade of purple is and the description was correct in saying that it is smooth and very easy to apply.

Okay friends! There is my small summary of all the items I received in my Nomakenolife August box! I hope you enjoyed it! Xo

Cargo Cosmetics You Had me at Aloha Eyeshadow Palette!

Hi loves! Today it is another windy and rainy day. I figured what would be a great way to forget about being stuck inside would be to review the limited edition You Had me at Aloha Eyeshadow Palette by Cargo Cosmetics. This is still available online for $34. I purchased mine at Kohl’s on sale for $25 with a free deluxe sample of their mascara. Yay!

This palette was a must have for me. I love the beautiful purple shades and well of course, I’m Hawiian and my collection wouldn’t be complete without it. Let’s get started with the fun palette pictures and swatches!

Here is the front of the palette! Took the picture of the palette and the box together because they are different. The box has the name of the palette and the actual palette is more subtle. But it is so pretty with the hibiscus flower printed on both.
Here is the back of the palette and the box! The box has some suggested looks with two shades and then four. It also includes a really awesome diagram with where the shades should be placed and blended. Both the box and palette have matching serial numbers which is super important!
Here’s the inside of the palette! It has twelve shades that vary in matte and shimmer and just scream the colors of Hawai’i. There was also an eyeliner and double-sided eyeshadow brush included.
Here’s the eyeliner that came with the palette. I’m not a fan of pencil liner so I have no idea how this applies.
Here is the brush that came with the palette. I used this brush to do the swatches for you since I was curious about the quality.

I’m going to show you the swatches of this palette but I wanted to tell you that I did six on each arm but with the first row I split it up in three colors because the nude mattes were hard to see.

Here are the first three shades in the palette. As you can see, they are a tad hard to see on my skin. Hula is a very pretty silver shimmer that picks up better on finger swatch than brush. Waikiki is a golden beige that almost matches my skin tone. Hapuna is a light beige matte that was also a bit hard to see.
Here are the three other shades in the first row. These guys are more pigmented than the first three. Kona is a chestnut brown with a slight shine. Shell is a veryy pretty shimmer. Shaka is a dark pink-purple that reminds me of island flowers.
This second row was a lot more visible and pigmented than the first one. Hibiscus and Island are golden shades that are reminiscent of sand and gold. Kai and Tiki could make a fun duo that could make a palm tree inspired look 🙂 Lei is a color inspired by flowers and Luau is a dark purple with a slight shimmer.

This palette is fun and I love it just because of heritage pride. The colors are very pretty but I do wish they applied a bit better on the brush. Aloha!

Too Faced X Nikkietutorials The Power of Makeup Collection and Swatches!

Hi friends and makeup collectors! Today I’m going to review the Too Faced X Nikkietutorials collaboration collection! I know this came out a while ago but I didn’t start blogging then. It took a while to decide to turn my makeup enthusiasm into an informative aide for people searching the internet. Okay, so I grabbed this on Sephora’s website on launch day because I love Nikkie. I’m not a huge Too Faced fan because I think their shades are very, well, boring and recycled with each palette that comes out. I also think the shades don’t last very long or all middle together into a very uncomplimentary Brown. Okay let’s start looking at the collection.

Here’s the box the collection comes in. It has the same design as the palette inside.
Here’s the back of the box. It has a complete ingredient list of every item included and a quick picture preview of all the included items.
Here’s everything included in the collection. There’s a glamour tutorial guide, eyeshadow primer, eyeliner, glitter, mascara, and of course the palette.
Here is what the Glamour Dust in ‘Glitterally’ looks like. You definitely need a glitter glue or primer for this to stay on.
Better Than Sex is a great mascara. This one comes in a purple shade! It is exclusive to this collection!
This eyeliner is the Sketch Marker Eyeliner. It has a nice tip but I wish it flexed a bit like the ones I typically use.
Here’s the front of the palette.
Here’s the back of the palette. It has a quick summary of the collaboration.
Here’s the inside of the palette. It doesn’t have a mirror and reminds me of the Vegas Nay collaboration in setup. There are nine eyeshadows, two blushes, bronzer and highlighter.

I did the swatches by row since there are three in each row. The blushes are swatched together and the highlighter and bronzer are swatched together.

Here’s the first row. It has two shimmer shades and a nice and light base shade.
This second row has two mattes that can be used as a base or transition shade. Irresistible is a very nice shimmer gold shade that is very subtle when used with a brush. Unfortunately, that does happen with a majority of gold shadows.
This is the last eyeshadow row. It has two shimmer colors and one matte black that is actually… very nice. A lot of black shadows don’t last or aren’t very pigmented. I’m happy with this black.
Here are the blush swatches. I Will Always Love You is a beautiful orange blush that adds a subtle color and shade to your cheeks. Justify My Love is a beautiful bright pink with some sparkle. It does get a bit of fallout but nothing frustrating or insane. It blends out quite nicely.
Here’s the bronzer and highlighter. Champagne Truffle is from the Chocolate Bar palettes and is Nikki’s go to which is why it was included. Chocolate Soleil is one of Too Faced best selling bronzers and smells like chocolate. I would live without the smell but it a nice contour shade.

That’s it for this collection! You get a lot of things with it so when it was on sale for $60 it was definitely worth it. I wish the shadows were a bit more unique but overall, it is nice but I just don’t grab for it much.
